Overview

Nijagal Betta is a hillock located near Dobbaspet town of Tumkur and also known as Siddara Betta. The ruins of ancient temples and fort serves as a certain landmark, where you will be able to spot the hill from the Pune-Bangalore National Highway. The trek starts with the mud road continuing towards huge boulders which are ideal for rock climbing and ends at the mosque on top. This hill represents the religious unity as there is a Hanuman temple and Dargha where locals visit and worship regularly. Reaching the peak at midnight, you will be able to spot some small ponds and the view of city lights and cool breeze welcome you get relaxed and pass some time around.

Things to carry

Suggested things to carry:

- Personal medication (if any)
- One strong backpack.
- Water bottles (enough to carry at least 2 liters of water)
- Energy Food (Chocolate bars, flavored milk, Electrolyte drinks - Glucose etc.)
- Small torch with new batteries.
- Camera (Optional)
- Rain Coat (suggested)

Tentative Schedule:

06:30 AM - Pick up from BMC, Indiranagar Nagar
06:45 AM - Pickup from New Shanti Sagar Hotel, Domlur
07:00 AM - Pickup from Lifetyle, Magrath Road (Near Garuda Mall)
08:30 AM - Have breakfast on the way
10:00 AM - Reach Base camp
10:30 AM - Start Trekking
01:00 PM - Have lunch and Start the descent
03:30 PM - Reach base camp
04:00 PM - Start back to Bangalore
