Meet Geeta  S. Rao, a true inspiration and a symbol of unwavering determination. Geeta  is a Para cyclist representing Team India and has already achieved remarkable feats in her journey. However, her path to success has been filled with countless challenges. Today, we invite you to join us in supporting Geeta  S. Rao as she continues to chase her dreams on the global stage.

Geeta’s Inspiring Journey

Geeta ‘s story is one of resilience and passion over adversity. At the age of 3, she was told by a Doctor that she would never be able to walk in her life, after a wrong injection given by a doctor upon her high fever & suffering from Poliomyelitis in her entire body. She was Bed-ridden for years, used a wheelchair, crutches, handicapped boots, walking poles, and she’s standing on her own legs now. Unfortunately, her left leg remained permanently-disabled below waist and what she achieved so far in her life was purely with the power / efforts of one-leg. She’s living every day on the path of greater challenges for herself that she didn’t ever imagine. Today, she’s part of Team India, Para-Cycling (National & international) & an accomplished Tri-Athlete, holding many proud laurels/accolades/records on her name. 

Over the years, Geeta has shown extraordinary grit, determination and dedication to her sport, tirelessly working to hone her skills, faced injuries from her head to toes and overcome challenges one can’t imagine for him/herself. She has represented India in multiple international competitions, including Asian Championships, where she has made her mark as one of India’s most promising Para cyclists.

In order to get there, she not only worked hard in preparing herself for the challenging events, but these had been done by her with no financial support from Government / NGOs / Corporates. Despite her qualification and selection for the upcoming Asian Games 2023, she continues to face challenges in securing the racing bicycles and respective trainings / gears / equipments.  She has set her firm eyes on winning the first Olympics medal for India in Cycling Sport too at upcoming Paralympics 2024.    

Geeta ‘s journey is far from over. To continue her pursuit of excellence, she needs crucial support to qualify and win to reach the peak in Indian Cycling Sport. Racing bicycles, Trainings, gears, equipment, travel expenses, and coaching all come at a significant cost. Moreover Cycling, both on Roads & Tracks, is believed to be a very risky sport where two active legs and a healthy determined mind are required, doing it with one leg is the challenge of another level. She has already shown her indomitable will & spirit to the world how determined she was towards achieving her goals and overcoming every obstacle/barriers that came on her way when it seemed impossible to conquer with her physical disability. 

Geeta ‘s ambition is to compete at the highest level and bring honors to our nation. However, without adequate financial backing, her dreams could remain unfulfilled.
