Ovee achieved this record on October 11, 2023, at 7:18 AM, one day after turning 10, which was on October 10, 2023. Ruchi Malve, who is her elder sister by 13 years, is also a SSI Certified Open Water Diver. She enrolled for Junior Open Water Diver certification course on 27th Oct 2022 and got certified on 30th Oct 2022. At the Age of 13 years & 10 years, both sisters became world’s Youngest Scuba diver sisters.
Neeraj Malve, a seasoned adventurer and outdoor enthusiast, established the Bangalore Mountaineering Club in 2004 with a vision to introduce more people to the joys of outdoor adventures. Through this club, he organized treks, expeditions, and various adventure activities like Paragliding, Scuba Diving, Sky Diving etc., nurturing a community of adventure seekers. His passion for adventure wasn’t confined to the mountains alone, and it seems to have been genetically passed down to his daughters, Ruchi and Ovee.

Ovee scripted her success at Temple Adventures in Pondicherry, where she had enrolled for a Junior Open Water Diver course. Her coach Shreya Mehta was instrumental in honing her skills to the level that she became a world record holder. Whereas Ruchi is trained under Shaurya Tarni of Dive Goa, Goa.
They trained rigorously which included a swim for 200 meters nonstop and floating for 10 mins without any aid or support, studying 5 chapters of theory, Performing Underwater skills in confined water, passing a written exam, and successfully performing 4 dives in open water up to 18-meter depth to earn Open Water Diver certification.
